Electric Religious is the project of Canadian Métis singer-songwriter, Brandon Baker, whose guitar-driven music has been described as “bursting with inspiration, insight, and hope.” Deeply influenced by the psychedelic sounds of Jimi Hendrix, Baker took his moniker from a Hendrix quote: “When I get up on stage, that’s my whole life. That’s my religion… I am electric religion.”
His upcoming album, The Taste, releases in July 2024 via Indigenous-owned music label, Red Music Rising. This collection of tunes straddles pop, rock, and funk––with an Indigenous spin on the genres Electric Religious has playfully coined as “Métis Disco.”
