After discovering her passion for the music business, Lesley made the bold decision to leave her job at Motorola and pursue an MBA at Henley Business School in the UK.
Driven by her vision of fostering strong business relationships between China and the global music sector, Lesley founded Creative China. Through this initiative, she has collaborated extensively with record labels, agencies, promoters, music tech startups, and various organizations in China and beyond, including the British Council, China International Cultural Industry Fair, English Folk Expo, Ticketing Business Asia, Independent Label Market, and Canada Music Week. Her expertise has guided artists and businesses through the intricacies of the China market.
Committed to nurturing productive business relationships, Lesley actively participates in music conventions and showcases such as ILMC, jazzahead!, and MIDEM. At these events, she shares insights into the Chinese music market and serves as a mentor at various music gatherings like Music Matters and SXSW. She also played a crucial role in launching the Chinese Association of Music Industry, aimed at facilitating collaboration and fostering meaningful conversations between China and the global music industry.
Currently, she serves as a Creative Industry Advisor to the Longgang District of Shenzhen Municipality and as a trustee of the China Association of International Trade. Additionally, as a freelance journalist, Lesley regularly imparts global music trends and best practices to Chinese music professionals and fans.
