I’m Marc Mas Carbonell, drummer and singer of the band Bilo, and now I present my solo project “Letters and stamps”. This album is the result of having studied for four years in Barcelona and having met Driss Stadig and Tomy Solbas (members of Bilo). Recorded at the Teatre de Calvià with Tomy as producer/arranger and Driss as studio musician, it was a year and a half project of original songs started between 2018 and 2022 that have gone from acoustic guitar or piano taking texture with trio or quartet formation. The vast majority of the sessions were done live on bass, drums and guitar giving a fairly organic and carefree product.
“Letters and Prints” is a personal project of 9 songs in the form of images or memories dedicated to my experiences and the experiences with the people who have passed through my life. Written in English, Spanish and Catalan These songs are a more personal way of treating music and composition where I explore sounds, textures and melodies from life experience dedicated to self-reflexion and avoiding the concept of rock band.
