SO WHAT NOW are an entertaining quintet who elegantly present an extensive and eclectic repertories including pieces made famous by some of the 20th century’s most inspirational jazz pioneers. Drawing from jazz standards, classic Latin grooves & blues all blended with their own brand of vibrancy, humour and most importantly a whole lot of swing!
Their programme features popular numbers but always with a few surprises thrown in, including bebop and cool West Coast jazz. The quintet features the classic saxophone and trumpet combination, complemented superbly by piano, double bass and drums.
They are frequently joined by guest vocalists, guitarists and other instrumentalists. As well as performing their own shows, they have always been keenly involved in the running of jam sessions, giving playing opportunities over the years to many local musicians.
