Reme is a London-based band formed by Spanish expats and Brits in their homeland. Their latest single, Magic Peach, follows closely on the heels of the previous release, Egyptian Walls, which was featured on Spotify’s Fresh Finds and Fresh Finds Rock editorial playlists. The group will be performing at New York’s New Colossus festival in March 2024, following a busy 2023. After supporting Jeff Clarke (Black Lips) and Acid Tongue in London, Reme also toured Spain with the local act Rufus T Firefly, in addition to participating in festivals such as Purple Weekend and Ebrovisión.
Reme is also gearing up for an exciting new project, which involves recording special vinyl editions of some of their songs at Leesta Vall Sound Recordings in New York. Magic Peach, a naive and Lennon-esque attempt at poking fun at First World problems, was presented live during a single release party at East London’s Shacklewell Arms. The single was recorded at Hermitage Works Studios, a space utilised by other local acts during their initial stages, including Fat White Family, Goat Girl, and Calva Louise.
The band, whose sound has drawn comparisons to T.Rex, Foxygen, The Divine Comedy, and the latest Arctic Monkeys, garnered critical acclaim in Spain with the release of their self-titled debut album in 2021, with the first single, Royal Cape, being recognised as one of the best tracks of the year by Spain’s Radio 3 Best Songs of 2020.
